The NSW greyhound racing industry was brought to its knees in 2015 after damaging footage aired on the ABC’s Four Corners program. The government of then Premier Mike Baird called in an administrator to overhaul the industry with the threat of closure looming large.

Our team was quickly appointed by Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) with a mandate to help the industry regain its social license to operate. We were tasked with designing and executing a fully-integrated plan that communicated the scale and significance of new welfare practices. Working closely with GRNSW’s internal team, gtmedia was responsible for acute issues management strategies, proactive media engagement, managing sensitive media enquiries, and for all subsequent media management around the Special Commission of Inquiry led by former High Court Justice Michael McHugh.
